Readers! Help me out. We are nearing week #10 for the blog hop series, and I’m wondering if any of you are loving or hating it. Do you enjoy looking at what other bloggers are doing? Would you rather I do away with it? Does it take away from the blog or is it fun? I’m having a hard time deciding, so help me!
Also, previously I did a post on Saving Money Online and I introduced you to some money-saving apps on your phone! I wanted to update you now that I’ve had a little more experience with some of them.
First up: Shopkick . I never mentioned Shopkick in my previous post. It seems like an awesome App that gives you points and offers just for walking into stores. You can then use those points for gift cards. However, it promises 50 points for sign-up through a friend, and everyone I know that has downloaded this app never got the points. Stay away. Dishonesty from the start is never a good sign. If I figure out why they never followed through, I’ll update.
For those of you with lots of member loyalty cards, the app Cardstar will store all of your cards for you so you don’t have to carry them around in your wallet anymore! All you have to do is take a picture of them and you can now scan your smart phone instead of your Fresh Values card (or any other card you carry around). Genius!
That being said, IBOTTA is kicking trash and is currently mine and my sister’s favorite app! When I first started using it I thought it was lame because the offers were for things that I don’t buy (junk food, treats, etc.) But they frequently add new offers and I’m LOVING THEM lately! As I mentioned earlier, I gave up coupons years ago because of the hassle of cutting them, paying attention to expiration, not to mention just plain awkward and embarrassing moments at checkout. I LOVE that all my rewards with Ibotta happen at home. I decide which ones I want, and then I scan my receipt and the products when I get home. Stress free. And they are starting to have a lot more offers that are either healthier, or non-food, which is way better for me!
Here’s the scenario for today: I got some awesome cash back! They had a Kimberly Clark deal going where you get extra bonuses for buying certain products (diapers, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) ALL THINGS I USE.
I paid $60 and got back $46 from Ibotta!
Here’s what I got for $14:
P.S. Ibotta didn’t pay me for this post, but I’m REALLY hoping that they receive enough positive feedback to keep up the awesome offers!
I know I mentioned some other apps and saving tips in my previous post, but right now the ones I actively use the most are: Ebates, Amazon Prime, and sometimes Saving Star. I just don’t have time for them all.
Also, for those of you wanting to de-clutter your life, the app Cardstar will store all of your loyalty cards for you so you don’t have to carry them around in your wallet anymore! All you have to do is take a picture of them and you can now scan your smart phone instead of your Fresh Values card (or any other card you carry around). Genius!
Do you have a favorite Money-Saving App?

A HUGE thank you to those of you that shop through our occasional affiliate links that appear on Mother's Niche! It is of no extra cost to you, and I notice and appreciate it each time that it happens (really). Because of you, I might be able to avoid having to cloth diaper my babies, wash and recycle my zip lock baggies, and maybe one day in the future we will be able to afford a lawn mower. A girl can dream, right? See my disclosure policy for more info. Love you all!
