Ladies! As we head into Spring and Summer, I have the most exciting challenge for you today! Why is it exciting? Because it will increase your joy as a mother, and because there’s no perfect way to do it, you just need to have a focus on connecting more with your children! It’s Called, “100 Days Connected.”
100 Days Connected: A Fun Challenge for Moms
Connection. It’s a word I’ve pondered over and over as of late…
I’ve read the research about phones and technology and their contribution to depression and lowered happiness, but I’ve often wondered WHAT it is about a phone or iPad or TV or computer…..could cause this?

I think it has to do with connection. As humans, we are made to connect with each other. It feeds our souls. My focus lately has been to ask myself, “How have I CONNECTED with my loved ones today?” Rather than “what have I done for my loved ones today?” Because in all reality, I can run around like a chicken with my head cut off, doing things all day for the ones I love, but forgetting to actually connect. .
Connection for me, is when time stands still and I am totally in the moment. As my children speak, I am not thinking about tomorrow or yesterday, or what happened 5 minutes ago….but totally with them. I really hear what they say. I am tuned into their emotions, their mannerisms, and everything that makes them unique. .
It’s impossible to be 100% connected all the time, and there are times we need to get things done, but I think oftentimes when I feel “off” a lack of connection can often be the culprit. Just yesterday I took 15-20 minutes to go outside, kick a ball, and ride on daddy’s longboard with my son. It fed both of our souls.
I’ve been reading a book called, Daring Greatly by Brene’ Brown, and in the very beginning of the book she states, “Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.”
So in an effort to ease our suffering (because who needs more of that?), I’ve created a challenge titled “100 Days Connected” to urge myself (and all of you) to have a focused effort on connecting with our loved ones for 100 days! And because I hate perfectionism, this does not have to be 100 days in a row! If life gets crazy and you forget about the challenge one day, you just keep counting on the next day!
#100DaysConnected: The Challenge
