Something must be in the air, because I've had multiple friends ask me to post this. Maybe it's all the natural disasters that are occurring, but no matter what's going on, it's always good to be prepared. About 5 years ago I got really into emergency preparedness and tried almost EVERY BRAND out there! I chatted with many of these long-term food storage companies and did whatever I could to make sure my small family was prepared for an emergency. Through these experiences, I finally found what I think the be, the BEST long-term food storage (see my food storage review here).
I've calmed down since then, but I still do little things each year to make sure that all my hard work is updated and ready to go should we need it.
Once I found what I feel is the best long-term food storage company, I dedicated 6 months to trying every single meal they made. We didn't eat it every night, but I tried to make at least one meal every week. Since then, there have been several times that I couldn't make it to the grocery store, and we pulled one of these meals out. My kids especially love the pasta alfredo. I keep their fruits, veggies and meats on hand as well, so that each of these meals can be changed up if needed.
Best Long-Term Food Storage
This collage below is some pictures I took of different foods after I made them. Some of my favorites are in this collage. I love the soups, and the beans and rice, and pretty much all of the breakfast options.

I learned a lot from trying other long-term food storage companies, and one thing that I found shocking is that many of these companies sell the same food, under a different company label. I also learned from a food scientist about the ingredients in most of these foods, and how horrible they were. This may sound like I went to a lot of work to figure things out, and that's because I did. Buying a year's supply of food storage isn't cheap, and I wanted to make sure that what I was buying would last the very longest. I was also a community representative for emergency prep at the time, so I wanted to do my research!
What Makes Valley Food Storage the Best Long-Term Food Storage
Here's what makes Valley Food Storage the Best Long Term Food Storage Company in my opinion:
- Great Prices
- Shipping is FREE
- No Fillers- ingredients you can pronounce
- High-Quality Packaging Materials-high quality mylar bags
- Package Process – Nitrogen Replacement
- No MSG
- Made In The USA
For example, here's the ingredient list on one of my favorite, Enchilada Beans and Rice:
None of the crap that you can't pronounce that we are so accustomed to having many of our foods! All stuff that keeps many food storage foods from keeping the shelf life that they promise.
My favorites of the breakfast are the Oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, and Pancakes. The Oatmeal is a bit sweet for my preference, which I love, because I can add some plain oatmeal (which is pretty cheap) and extend the amount of servings I get by twice as much!
