It’s that time of year! GRADUATION!
My little sister is graduating this year and I gave her a gift that I think I will give to graduating seniors from here on out. It’s exactly what they want, extremely fun-looking, and can be used in a variety of ways. To learn how to make the little outfit on the card using dollar bills, see the tutorial here (it’s easy): How to Make a Shirt and Pants out of a Dollar Bill.
Because I gave my gift to her early (at Christmas), I wrapped the dollar bills in green ribbon and Christmas bells, but you can customize that part to whatever time of year it is. The great thing about the bills, is that it’s really not that much money overall, but it looks like it is because it’s gifted in such a fun way. I also bought vouchers from Groupon for restaurants and activities near her college. I remember very well what it was like to be a starving college student and would have LOVED this gift.

Things you will need for this College Student Survival gift:
- Hanging Organizer. It’s fun to use one of these to hold the bills and gifts because they can later use it in their dorm room closet to hold accessories, jewelry, or snacks they want to hide from their roommates 🙂
- Ribbon for tieing the dollar bills. Preferably in their school colors.
- Groupon Vouchers for local restaurants and activities
- Fun Snacks, cleaning samples, toiletries and school supplies (pens, erasers, clips, etc.).
- Dollar Bills
This isn’t necessary, but you can also include a bunch of quarters in a quarter tube for “laundry money.” It’s just another fun way to cater to the needs they will have in college.
