I’m excited to announce that one more item has been crossed off my bucket list: Participate in a mud/obstacle course race. DONE!
This last Saturday was the Dirty Dash, and it was a blast! We didn’t train for it or anything, so if you’re looking for a low-key, fun-spirited race, then this is the one. If you are looking for a competitive, timed race you might want to go elsewhere.
I was relieved when I got there and they said “this is not a timed race.” Phew! No one will know that it took me over an hour to complete a 5k (except that I just told you). Another wonderful part about the race was there was a short stall when approaching the next obstacle, giving me a chance to catch my breath while I waited for the person in front of me to monkey climb a wall or belly flop into the next mud pit.
We threw our costume together last-minute (we went 80’s style), and somehow won the costume contest! It was hilarious, except for the part where they made us dance on stage for longer than I wished (my husband was loving it).
