To comply with the FTC law about bloggers getting paid for various stuff, I offer you this wonderful disclosure policy:
If you are here reading my blog, you should assume that my blog makes money in some way.
Whhaatt?
Yes. I guess you can even say I work for YOU. But the greatest part about this little deal? You don’t pay a dime. Yep, that’s correct. In my opinion, mommy blogging is one of the best things on Earth. Why? Because moms work from home supplying ideas and resources to other moms that both work and stay at home, and it’s a third party (businesses and ad networks) that whip right in and COVER THE TAB for all the hard work. That’s just down right 100 % awesome. All moms win.
My job is to make your life as a mother easier. Most of us don’t have time to make our own charts and calendars, or come up with ideas for entertaining our children, or even researching the best ways to potty train. That’s why I am here. To make your life easier. And all that I ask is that if something ever comes up that interests you (or that you would purchase anyway), please use our links. This is how I am compensated for my time. And if you like what you see, please subscribe and come back often. What makes blogging fun and exciting for me is to have repeat visitors who comment and connect with me. I really do read every comment and email.
And please don’t be bashful if there’s something you’d like to see on my blog. I love new ideas and I’m here to help you as far as my time permits. My job as a mother and wife come first, but after that, it’s all you baby! I really do treat this as a job. And you are my customer.
I also want my readers to know that I will always be 100% honest. Here are some ways that I am compensated as a blogger. Most of these are very small ( and I mean very small).
1. I am an Amazon Affiliate. When you buy from Amazon through a link on my blog, I get compensated in a very small way for it. You don’t pay any more than you would buying it directly through amazon, so why not support a stay-at-home mom by contributing to my diaper fund while you shop? To those that have already supported my blog by shopping Amazon through my links, THANK YOU! You would have smiled to witness my surprise and glee when I earned my first dollar! ALSO…you don’t have to purchase the product that is linked to support my blog, but ANY purchase counts after clicking an affiliate link (usually).
2. Occasionally I will do a product review. This usually results in compensation either through a free product or other form, and if it does I will let you know. Keep in mind I turn down almost all of these. This is not the purpose of my blog. However, if there is a product that I really love and would normally suggest it to you without any type of compensation, you better believe I’m going to contact that company and ask for the product for free. It just makes sense. For instance, if I’m teaching you how to make hair bows and I have a favorite place to buy the supplies, of course I’m going to ask that company to send me some free supplies so that I don’t have to buy them myself. My husband is a school teacher, I can’t afford to pay for every single craft and project that I show on my blog! Plus, I often like to give these products away to my awesome family, friends and readers. I will always fight for a giveaway for my readers! That’s what I call a win-win.
Almost all product reviews on my blog are companies that I already love, that I have contacted and requested to be spotlighted on my blog, not the other way around. I won’t sell off my readers for a product that sucks. Just not my thing. If a product rocks, you can count on me to let you know…otherwise…it’s not showing up on my blog.
3. Ads. I personally have never been bugged by ads on other blogs unless they pop up on the screen and you have to click out of them. One of my favorite things to “retrieve” from other blogs are free printables for the kiddos. If ads support other moms so that they can spend their precious time making me free printables, then I am all for it! I love the vast resources that are available to moms through blogs these days, and I’m a fan of any way that these moms can be compensated for their time. I hope you will agree. I try to keep my blog simple with just a few ads and I hope you are not bothered by them. They are just on more very small way that I am compensated for my time.
If I happened to miss something, you can safely assume that I am dedicated to finding as many ways possible to support my family through blogging. I am however, still a person with a heart and working brain (most of the time) and all opinions expressed will always be my own. My family and my integrity come first, followed by my readers, and after those things are in place…if I can also make money, I will.
Occasionally I take a break for a day and let someone else guest post on my blog. This is always made known at the beginning of the post, and is usually someone awesome. If they aren’t awesome or say something idiotic, I claim no responsibility for their actions and you can count on me not to invite them back.
There, how was that for a bunch of jibber-jabber? 🙂
Here’s some more jibber-jabber:
