There is snow on the ground here in Utah, but according to the calendar, spring is here, which means spring break is also here (which means you are probably ripping your hair out and counting down the days until your kids head back to school, am I right?). What better way to take up time bond with your kids than whipping up a fun little spring snack that you can enjoy together? Rice krispie treats are a favorite in this house, and you can add a fun, spring-y twist by adding Funfetti cake mix!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix
5 cups crispy rice cereal
1 10 oz bag of marshmallows
4 oz butter
spring sprinkles
Step One:Â Grab the kiddos and measure out all your ingredients

Step Two:Â In a large saucepan, melt your butter. Once the butter is melted, stir in your marshmallows. Continue stirring the mixture until the marshmallows are almost completely melted.
Step Three:Â Stir the DRY cake mix into the marshmallow and butter mixture. Slowly add the cereal until it is completely coated. Add about half of your sprinkles and mix them in, as well (don't stir too much; you don't want the color to bleed).
Step Four:Â Grease a 9×13 inch pan and press your cereal mixture into the bottom of the pan. Spread the remaining sprinkles on top, and let the treats sit for 30 minutes. Once they are cooled, grease a knife and cut them into squares.
VOILA! Not only have you spent some quality time making memories with your kids, but you also have some delicious spring treats to show for it! If you try this recipe, let us know what you think!
