Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I’m sure your Pinterest board is filling up with bunches of different treat ideas that you want to make for you and your significant other! But let’s be honest, most of those recipes are too complicated to get right on the first try, so you’re not going to attempt them anyway. So why not do something much easier! This simple trick is perfect for baking Valentines treats for a party, a child’s class or, for just a few friends. They're Valentine's Day Cupcakes; shaped like hearts in a simple muffin tin!
There are two good ways to go about making your heart-shaped cupcakes.

First, you can find the marbles your kids have left lying around the house (check under the bed, inside the couch cushions, even in the laundry basket…you never know) or go buys some at the store. Marbles work well because they won’t burn in the oven, although they will get hot.
Second, and this is my method of choice, get some aluminum foil and make little round balls. This allows you to get the size you want and add more or less as needed.
What You’ll Need:
- Cupcake pan
- Cupcake liners
- Aluminum foil
- Cupcake batter
Steps:
- Prepare cupcake batter.
- Place cupcake liners into the cupcake tin and make little balls out of aluminum foil.
3. Carefully pour in the cupcake batter about 1/2 full and add your aluminum balls to the top of the cupcakes, outside the muffin liners. Be careful not to add too much batter. If you do, they will over-rise and lose their heart shape.
4. Bake cupcakes according to the recipe’s directions and let cool.
5. Decorate with frosting, sprinkles, candies — you name it! And enjoy! Get the kids to help too!
