I’m always on the lookout for new ideas to add to my date nights at home list, especially if they are fun ones that we can do at home after the kids go to bed (no babysitter required)! Awhile back I came across the coolest idea (it’s called the Game of Love) and I finally set aside some time to make it happen! We are currently working on making our master bedroom “more special” and a place that we both love coming to at the end of the day (this also includes making it the cleanest area of the house). Part of our efforts included getting a duvet cover that we loved from Crane & Canopy. I figured this game board would be a perfect way to celebrate our “new bed.”
What I love about this game is that you can completely customize it to YOU. The squares can be fun and lighthearted activities, or you can spice things up a bit, whatever works best for you and your spouse! If you do this for an anniversary or birthday, some of the squares can be fun little trinkets and gifts, and one might even be a 10-minute break for birthday cake!

Now, you don’t HAVE to go to bed in frumpy sweatpants, but it certainly adds to the fun. My husband came in the room thinking I was already asleep. It was so funny to wait for him to pull back the sheets and go, “what in the world?!” followed by a little laughter, followed by “did you really draw on our sheets?” followed by “Did you iron on all these spaces?”
So funny.
Plus, you can always jump into something “fun” after his initial surprise wears off.
You can also make the game yourself. But since I wanted to put all my energy into what I write in the spaces, and not in the actual making of the game, I just went with the pre-made Game of Love. I liked that it already came with the dice, the fabric markers, and the game piece, but my favorite part was the link to the idea vault they sent me with hundreds of ideas of things I could fill all the spaces with. They are categorized as Warm, Hot, Hotter, Smokin’ Hot, Treat ideas, Questions to ask, as well as some fun gift ideas. I also like that the fabric markers are washable so that you can create a whole new game board each time!

Since this is something that can be used over and over again, I highly suggest it for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, or just because! It’s the gift that just keeps on giving! And if you’re interested in a duvet cover for the master bedroom, here’s a little info on how I came upon mine: I actually discovered Crane and Canopy through a Facebook ad; which is funny, because I never click on Facebook ads. However, I just happened to be wanting to change-up our bedding and it was advertising awesome prices, so I clicked through. What really got me is the Nova Bedding. The Nova Gives the look of a beautifully layered bed with a unique two-toned cover that unites the flat sheet and the duvet cover. So basically, it takes me less than a minute to make my bed, and it looks like it was fancily done. More about that here.
