How many of you knew that May is National Bike Month? Well if you didn't, it's not to late to grab your kids and get out on your bikes! I've been wanting a bike for awhile now, and this beauty arrived just in time for Mother's Day, and National Bike Month!
We are in love with it. Both my husband and I have taken the girls out for rides multiple times in the last week. If it wasn't rainy, we probably would have been out riding every day! What I love is that it's a fun way for me to get some exercise with my kids, and in the summertime we can ride around in the breeze rather than taking walks in the heat.

The bike is the Schwinn Carington, which you can find at Toys R Us, or you can find an awesome selection of Schwinn bikes on Amazon! I purposely got it in blue so my husband wouldn't be bashful about taking it for a spin until we get a second coupler attachment to put on his mountain bike 🙂 The trailer is an InStep double trailer.
After our ride this morning we came in and had a little bike-themed snack 🙂
In honor of National Bike Month, and also because I love all things awesome, I also make my 3-year old her own traffic light for her own bike-riding adventures. Lately when we have been driving, she has been really observant of traffic lights and telling me when I can go, or when I need to stop. I thought she might appreciate a little practice of her own:
There's lots of creative ways to attach the traffic light, just look for something you already have! Or use a cheap plunger…
I actually used a portable washer that you use for washing clothes when you are camping, but a plunger would work just the same.
What ways are YOU going to Celebrate National Bike Month?
Remember to wear helmets and ride safe!
