Okay folks. This has probably been my most favorite thing to review. If you were to ask my mother what most annoyed her about me through all my growing up years, she would probably say: “her inability to plan.”
Seriously people, it causes me great pain. I just have never been able to find a way to plan ahead like most people. Don't get me wrong, I generally remember all of my appointments, but usually because I just jot it all down in my memory or set an alarm on my phone. I have never even ONCE in my life been able to keep a planner. I wish I could show you all a “planner graveyard” of all of the planners that I started at different points in my life. These planners are blank past the first week.
I don't know what it is.
But a few months ago I saw a certain planner that my mother-in-law had and I was like, “where in the world did you get that planner??” It had all these different pages for everything you could imagine and it was bright and colorful and looked really fun to write in. I thought, “now this is something my creative brain can handle!”

And long story short I now have one. And I love it. And before I start preaching miracles, I have to confess that I have only been using it for a week and half. But the fact that I am still like really giddy about writing in it says something! In fact, typically when my husband says, “can we plan?” I drag my feet into the living room where he proceeds to document everything on google calendar, and write things down, and I sit there trying really hard not to surf Pinterest. Luckily he somehow figured out how to set google calendar alerts on my phone so that I know when he has something planned. This last week however, I was the one to grab my planner and say, “when are we going to plan?!”
Okay, so can I show you all some of the pages now? Can I?
Thanks, I would love to!
First, I'm showing you the Mormon Mommy version of her planners because well, I am one (a Mormon). But if you aren't Mormon, don't worry! You can be! Haha, no but seriously, she also sells an awesome planner that works for everyone!
Aside from your typical yearly, monthly and weekly planning pages, this planner also has financial planners, gift planners, thank-you card planners, Family Home Evening Planners, Relationship Planners, as well as pages for your children and what you want to teach them and what their interests are. This planner also lists the lesson topics every month for all of the church auxilleries so that you can know what everyone is learning. Melinda has seriously thought of it all with her planners!
And here's my favorite page of all that makes me so excited to plan my week:
The best part of this whole post is that Melinda sent me an extra planner to giveaway to one of you! And I don't want to complicate your life with a bunch of things you have to do to enter, so here's how you enter:
Comment below stating what part of the planner you would be most excited about using!
Check out everything that's in it by going to Melinda's website: In the Leafy Treetops
And just in case you were wondering, I don't make any money if you buy her planner, I'm just a really big fan!
And if you happen to relate to anything that I said and think your personality might be anywhere near mine, you might also enjoy my post on the simple way to keep a journal as a mom.

I am most excited that this is a family planner/ journal with more then a tiny box each day. I find myself making lists constantly and love having things written down. Mostly I can see this as a great tool for the times I try to ‘catch up’ on my youngests baby book ( c’mon I can’t be the only one not able to run in and mark down every milestone) 😉

I love all of it, but right now I could use some help in the relationship department. With 5 kids, I need all the help I can get. So I like the relationship planner.

I love the size and variety of pages. I’m always coming up with new lists and they end up on papers all over the house.

I love this, probably because I need/want something fun and pratical, I will lose interest just like you said about yourself. There are so many things I love about this planner, but it think I love the section above the weekly Sunday lesson schedule for thoughts/reflections/feelings the most.

This looks fantastic! I see myself using every single page! Especially love the monthly overview page. I love to plan… actually enjoy the planning more than the actual act of checking things off. lol & the 3 tiered weekly pages. Would be perfect to organize my days. I already split tasks under morning, afternoon, and evening. 🙂

I’ve never been able to keep a planner either! I’m the Primary Secretary in my ward, so I would love the part with the lesson topics would be awesome!

I would be most excited about the cleaning section, I always forget to keep track of when I need to do cleaning that only happens a couple times a year.
Kristie says
I have drooled over her planners for a while, but can’t justify the cost. It would be fun to win one.

The daily tasks portion would do wonders for my total case of pregnancy brain I have going on right now. If I don’t make a list every morning I’m bound to forget most of my to do’s and a planner would be much easier to track than random pieces of paper and sticky notes!

I am thinking we would have been great friends in high school. 😉 😉 I would love the daily task page.

As a new convert, I’d find the Family Home Evening pages the most useful! I’ve got four little ones that I homeschool, so the weekly planning pages are also pretty fantastic! It’d be a great way to keep track of activities and assignments! 🙂
