You guys….if you haven’t noticed from the grocery ads this week…it’s National Emergency Preparedness month! My husband and I had a serious chat the other day about how we are both feeling the need to prepare our family in case of natural disaster or emergency. We were a little embarrassed by the fact that we have been married for almost 5 years now and are still not prepared.
So…we figured this is the perfect month to get started! We want to be fully prepared by December, and as part of that, I will be doing a lot of blog posts this month to help inspire you too! Our excuse has always been that we just don’t have the finances to prepare properly, which is a bad excuse! There is always something we can trade or give up or sacrafice in order to have just a little extra each month, and we are determined to do so even if it means we get food storage for Christmas this year.
So…to start things off, today’s tip (and GIVEAWAY!) has to do with WATER. We all know we can’t live long without water. but the question is,
How Much Water Should You Store For An Emergency?
You need to store ONE GALLON of water PER PERSON, PER DAY. It is recommended that you store enough for AT LEAST 3 DAYS! So if you have 3 people in your family, you would need to store a minimum of 9 gallons, but if I were you I would do more. No one wants to be without water.
