I have wonderful friends and neighbors who have done so much for me as I worked through some various health mysteries. One of them took my toddler for a day and let me rest and last week she called to offer again. I’m feeling a lot better thankfully, but something she said stuck with me. As we were talking on the phone she said, “I hope you really will call me if you have a bad day and just need someone to watch your girls.” I could sense the sincerity in her voice. She then said, “I really want you to call me whenever. That’s the best part about being a mom. I’m busy, but I’m flexible. If my bathroom doesn’t get cleaned it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.”
What a saint! And might I add, a woman with great wisdom!
So you may have noticed I haven’t posted quite so regularly this week. That’s because someone in my family needed some help. And when I got the call to help out this week, my friend’s words rang in my head: “I’m busy, but I’m flexible.”
That’s what I want to be: busy, but flexible.
And as much as I would have loved to keep up with the blog schedule this week, the blog really isn’t what matters most in the grand scheme of things. It’s people. And real life.
So today, join the blog hop and delight in what some other amazing bloggers have to offer you!
As for me and you….We’ll catch up later 😉
