This post brought to you by Upromise by Sallie Mae. All opinions are 100% mine.
A few weeks ago I did a post on the best ways to save money online and one of you left a comment mentioning that I had left out Upromise by Sallie Mae.
I decided to look into it a little further and see what it's all about.
Upromise offers cash back for your online purchases. Â It is similar to Ebates except that money earned from Upromise can be put in a 529 college savings plan, put towards student loans, deposited into a Sallie Mae savings account, or you can get cash back.

What I liked about Upromise is their RewardU toolbar that you can download. If you are making a purchase online, it reminds you when you could be getting cash back so that you don't miss out. Â When I did a google search for a product, it showed which websites offer cash back, and how much. In the last few years I have preferred shopping online rather than in-store because of all the promo codes and cash back opportunities that are now available to me! Â I also save more time. Â The only exception is clothes shopping. Â My body is so oddly proportioned, that I must try things on.
Here is a picture of what the toolbar looked like when I went to Kohls.com:
Notice the Blue stripe at the top. Â It tells me right as I enter Kohl's website that I get 5% cash back (10% or more if I have the Upromise credit card), and then it gives me the option to activate the cash back. Â Once I do so, it also gives me the option to click and add coupon offers!! Â I LOVE that it will automatically add coupon codes without me having to type them in. Â I'm always the BOZO that forgets.
So far this toolbar is rocking my world.
As I mentioned in my post on Time Management, I like to save time and eliminate trips to the store by having ready-to-go gifts. Â In the past, I have passed up going to baby showers with the excuse that I didn't have a gift and I didn't have time to go to the store to get one. Â Now when I have a baby shower to go to, I just walk downstairs and grab a pre-wrapped gift. Â If it's a really close friend or family member I might make a special shopping trip to customize the gift, but having pre-wrapped gifts saves me TONS OF TIME for all the rest.
I tested out the RewardU toolbar at Kohls because they are having their baby sale, which is when I typically like to stock up on baby shower gifts. Â I stacked their 10% off baby sale code with a 30% off code, and ON TOP of that I got 5% off from Upromise. Â A total of 45% off of their already-on-sale baby items!
Another thing I appreciate about Upromise is the ability to register all of your debit cards so that you are also getting cash back at participating restaurants, for gas, and any other local offers.
Pure Awesomeness! Thank you Michelle, for recommending Upromise.
Any of you already have a Upromise account?
