Hello! It’s Julie with Confessions of a Cooking Diva back again with a great How-to on Roasting Garlic. Raise your hand if you like garlic? Come on, I know you do! In our house, garlic gets put into almost everything. We love it and roasted garlic is so good and milder than non-roasted garlic.
Roasted garlic can be used in various types of recipes. Mashed potatoes, dressings and marinades or rub it on bread for a delicious garlic bread. Rub it into meats before cooking for a great garlic flavor. The possibilities are endless.
To Roast Garlic you will need –

1 or 2 Garlic bulbs Olive oil Salt, to taste Foil Baking sheet
Step 1 – Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2 – Slice off the very tip of your bulbs of garlic and discard the tips.
Step 3 – Place the bulbs of garlic on a piece of foil. Make sure your foil is long enough to fold over the garlic. Pour enough olive oil into the garlic bulbs that it fills them up.Allow it to overflow a bit onto the foil. Sprinkle with salt. Add as much salt as you desire.
Step 4 – Wrap the foil tightly around the garlic and place onto a baking sheet.
Step 5 – Allow to cook for 35 minutes. Your house will begin to smell very fragrant and yummy.
Step 6 – Remove from the oven and allow the roasted garlic to cool. Once they are cool enough to touch, gently squeeze each clove out. Add to desired recipe.
