How do you do your journal writing? The idea behind a prayer journal is to use a simple format to write ways you have seen the hand of God in your life. It can help you to remember others who need extra prayers sent their way. I suggest taking some time to write your thoughts and truly reflect on the day you had. And if you need a kid’s version, go here: Prayer Journal Printable For Kids
I have found that I can much more easily recall the blessings of guidance and protection throughout the day when taking the time to think about it ahead of time rather than trying to recall it all while kneeling at my bedside. I think of friends and family I have heard are sick or in need of help. Reflecting and writing about my day has made my prayers more thoughtful and meaningful. I have deeper gratitude for my Father in Heaven and more surety of the love that He has for me. Also, because it is a journal it has been amazing to see how my journal has progressed. The first little while I had a hard time thinking of what to write and could hardly remember what happened during the day. But now there is hardly enough room on my paper to write all my thoughts. I am more aware throughout the day of my blessings and it is easier to recall these blessings during my writing time. I often look back at hard time or trial, and see the blessings of perseverance and patience.
