My husband and I live in Utah and decided a couple of years ago that we wanted to spend some time getting to know our beautiful state. So for a year and a half we spent a lot of time traveling as North as Bear Lake, to as South as St. George, and we discovered many fun and beautiful destinations. Here is where we list our very favorites for couples. If you are looking for a fantastic getaway, none of these locations will disappoint!
FOR Luxury & Relaxation………THE MONTAGE in Park CITY!
The Montage is remarkable, and there’s a reason it’s rated #1 in Park City. I felt so pampered while we were there and can’t wait to go there for a winter skiing trip sometime (we went in the Spring). We spent the mornings in the Spa (exercise followed by sauna and steam room), and then spent the day exploring in Park City. When we returned we enjoyed the gourmet s’mores out at the huge fire pit, followed by a soak in one of their multiple outdoor hot tubs. We also enjoyed a late night meal in one of their many on-sight restaurants.
There are so many fun activities to do at all the local ski resorts, that you can really do Park City at any time of year and still have LOTS of fun.

For Outdoor Adventure……….Zion Ponderosa Ranch in Southern Utah!
We absolutely LOVE Zion Ponderosa Ranch and you can easily spend multiple days there. Aside from a visit to Zion National Park, we also spent time Ziplining, horseback riding, and taking off on our own ATV tour. One of our favorite things was doing the hike to Observation Point. If you do the hike starting at the trailhead via Zion Ponderosa (rather than through Zion National Park), you get to skip all the steep switchbacks, making it only a 3.5 mile hike (each way). This was perfect for us and made for a good morning run.
You can see below some of the different lodging options at Zion Ponderosa ranch:
Aside from the activities that we did, you can also choose from multiple other activities: swimming, miniature golf, basketball, horseshoes, pin pong, tennis, climbing wall, and much more. See the Zion Ponderosa Ranch website for more info.

For Entertainment………The Anniversary Inn or the Grand America
We did two different Northern Utah Getaways and both were great! Our first trip consisted of a fun stay at the Grand America…where everything really is grand! And the view from the balcony was fun too! There are TONS of fun things to do in SLC, but another good idea is to look into getting a Salt Lake Connect Pass. Lots of options on there for fun places to visit together!
Another one of our favorites is the Anniversary Inn. We have a few favorite rooms at the 5th East location (in Salt Lake), but we really love the one in Logan! Logan is such a cute little small town, and the rooms at that location are fun too (we like Rich’s Drive in). For entertainment, we drove up to Bear Lake and watched a show at the Pickleville Playhouse. We had heard lots of raving reviews about the Juanito Bandito show, but it far exceeded our expectations. We were laughing the entire time. Definitely one of our favorite getaways!

For Remoteness and beautiful scenery……….The Blue Boar Inn in Midway
I love Midway! It’s a really small town, but one of the most beautiful!
The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant offers 12 elegantly decorated rooms complete with turrets, wrought iron balconies and fireplaces. Each room is named after a famous literary figure and comes complete with pillow-top beds, fresh flowers, jetted tubs and a light refreshment plate of fruit and cheese. From the Charles Dickens room featuring a leather sleigh bed and hand-carved wooden ceiling to the Elizabeth Barret/Robert Browning Suite with hand-woven English floral carpet and private balcony, the Blue Boar Inn offers an unparalleled lodging experience in a quiet Utah mountain town.
Because Midway is close to both Heber and Park City, there is still lots to do! I recommend taking a soak in the Geothermal Hot Spring over at the Homestead.
