Toys that Kids Play With

Sometimes I have really failed in the Toy-buying aspect of life. I think it is something my kids will love and it gets played with once or twice. I have learned this often happens with the “fad” toys that are popular for the current year. With Christmas approaching, I really want to do it right this year and buy ones that will a great hit. I hate the thought of paying for toys that my kids may or may not play with.

***THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED AND IMPROVED! YOU CAN FIND IT HERE: TOYS THAT REMAIN POPULAR FOR YEARS (OR YOU CAN CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW).

Wondering what to get your kids for Christmas? Don't waste money on the "fad" toys that remain popular for a short period of time. Get the toys that have proven true for 50+ years

At home with the kids? Instantly access any of these printable activity bundles to keep them learning!

I want your input!

What are the toys that your kids seem to love most over the years? What are the toys your kids actually play with?

Thanks in Advance!

I'm six-foot tall mother of three and I'm enjoying the view! I'm currently fighting a battle with Lyme disease and am determined to come out victorious. I enjoy warm summer rain, peanut butter everything, having dance parties with my husband and kids, natural remedies and healthy living. Most days I'm just looking for another excuse to avoid the piles of laundry.

Wooden blocks with letters & numbers have always been a hit. Playdoh never gets old. The little people farm has also been a great one. The marble run is a great one for older kids.

My kids (aged 2 & 4) always come back to the number/letter blocks, play dough, puzzles, Mr. Potato Heads, and dress ups! I love these things because they (usually) last for a long time and kids from different ages can enjoy them. Also, they get to use their imaginations which I love! 🙂

My 2 yr old son plays with cars, blocks, and balls right now. His favorite quiet time activity is games on an old iphone.
