This is our first spring/summer with a water table and the girls are loving it. I’ve been wanting to get one for a while because my daughters love playing in the water, but I don’t like to leave the hose running. We got the Step 2 Cascading Cove Sand and Water table and instead of using sand, we filled half of the table with water beads and plastic fish. If you are new to water beads, read all about them in my previous post: Water Beads Fun for Kids. They are ridiculously cheap and come with enough to last all summer. The goldfish were also really cheap, I got 144 of them for about $6 bucks.
The water table already came with a couple of boats and other plastic toys, so we just added the water beads and fish and a few toy vehicles. This made for a great sensory activity!

We also threw in a few sea life creatures to go with the goldfish, and our Learning resources tool set to help with fine motor skills. 🙂 If you have never done water beads with your kids, they really are so much fun. I had several friends message me after my last water beads post, and tell me how much fun their kids had with it.
As with all activities involving water and small objects, keep an eye on those small children! Happy summer everyone!
